🌿 Now
I try to keep up with reading. I’m trying to improve my routine.
Moving out of Paris #
I moved to the Fontainebleau area in June 2020, after spending 2 months in my small Paris flat with a 4-year-old and a newborn.
The forest is a 2-min walk away. I now have the time and headspace to watch the seasons pass and my children grow.
New hobbies #
I tore my Achilles tendon playing tennis in Feburary, so I am quite limited in terms of physical activites at the moment.
I also started playing Chess. Last time I played seriously enough to open books I was still a child, so the game is reactivating neuronal pathways (in a metaphorical sense) that hadn’t been used in a long time. It is strange yet interesting to be able to compare your thought process to that of your 10-something years old self.
New habits #
- Mostly replaced coffee with tea. I still drink a cup a coffee first thing in the morning, tea does not give me the kickstart I need;
- 1h walk or tennis first thing in the morning;
- 1h writing every morning. It’s the single most important thing for my sanity;
- I started tending to my notes and digital garden more seriously. Focused on tying loose ends.
Intellectual wanderings #
- I keep coming back to macroeconomics
- I enjoy modeling pretty much anything
- I am reading more and more history
